Ellie Mental Health (elliementalhealth.com) in La Vista is proud to announce the addition of three talented mental health professionals to its growing team. Starting in May 2025, John Sims, Alison (Ali) Condon, and Marrissa Petersen will join the Ellie family, bringing diverse experience and expertise that will further strengthen the clinic’s outpatient mental health and substance use treatment programs.
John Sims, PLADC, brings a strong background in addiction counseling, supported by degrees in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Bellevue University. His experience at a nationally recognized addiction treatment center has equipped him with the tools to support clients facing substance use and co-occurring challenges. John is known for his structured yet compassionate approach that empowers clients to explore their values, build confidence, and make lasting changes. Outside of work, he enjoys quality time with his wife and children and embraces recreational and relaxing activities.
Alison (Ali) Condon, LIMHP, LADC, is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She specializes in co-occurring disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and trauma, among other concerns. Ali utilizes CBT, ACT, DBT, and mindfulness techniques, offering trauma-informed, whole-person care. Her empathetic, person-centered style helps clients reconnect with their inner strength and live aligned with their values. Outside the clinic she enjoys camping, gardening, thrifting, and spending time with her family.
Marrissa Petersen, PLADC, is a passionate counselor dedicated to helping clients overcome substance use and behavioral addictions. Using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, Marrissa offers both individual and group counseling, as well as substance use evaluations and family support. Her culturally sensitive, empathetic care is available both in-person and via telehealth, making her a valuable resource for those seeking flexible, effective treatment.
