Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran, actor, model, mixed-martial-arts champion and Omaha Home for Boys alumni Rudy Reyes has signed on to be the featured speaker at this year’s Restoring Hearts with Bike PartsTM celebration on September 25th at Hilton-Omaha.
Reyes will speak at the Home’s signature fundraising event, sharing his experiences about his service in the military – where he was a member of the first battalions to invade Iraq in 2003 – as well as how his time at the Omaha Home for Boys “saved his life.” He is scheduled to arrive a day early to spend time with the Home’s youth for fitness and wellness exercises, conversations and as special dinner.
A native of Kansas City, Reyes was born into a military family in 1971 shortly before his father departed for combat in Vietnam. When his parents divorced in 1975, Rudy and his two brothers were shuffled from relative to relative before finally coming to live at the Omaha Home for Boys.
