Walk with over 3,000 people to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D) at this year’s Breakthrough T1D Walk on Sunday, October 5th at Mahoney State Park starting at 11:30 a.m. The Walk aims to raise awareness for T1D and fund research to cure, treat and prevent T1D and its complications.
T1D is an autoimmune disease that is diagnosed in both children and adults and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. If you have T1D, your pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone essential to turning food into energy. This means you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, inject or infuse insulin from a pump and carefully monitor your eating and activity every single day.
By joining Breakthrough T1D Walk, you will help us create a movement to improve and change life with type 1 diabetes, advancing life-changing breakthroughs on the way to cures. Register for the Walk today at www2.breakthrought1d.org.
