RMHC in Need of Volunteers in June and July for Meals That Heal Program

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC, rmhcomaha.org) is in need of volunteers for the June and July dates of their Meals That Heal program. Meals That Heal is the cornerstone of their House program, relying completely on people within the community to keep it up and running. As a Meals That Heal volunteer, you provide so much more than just food: you provide families with time to decompress with others after a tough day at the hospital, with the comfort and warmth of a home-cooked meal and conversation shared with families and members of the Omaha community. You provide them with extra support during some of their most challenging times.

Meals That Heal volunteers can help in different ways. Groups of volunteers can plan menus, purchase ingredients, and prepare meals in the House’s fully-equipped kitchen; assist the curbside program by providing an evening meal for all families at the House by placing an order through any restaurant or catering service of your choice; or support meal prep for the Freezer Meals program, which has meals available from the freezer ready to heat and serve on days that they don’t have a dinner group.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for $1,000. To learn more about being a volunteer or sponsor for Meals That Heal, contact Emily Mozer at emozer@rmhcomaha.org / (402) 346-9377. The meal calendar can be found at rmhcomaha.org/get-involved/meals-that-heal.
