The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAoC) selected Project Interfaith Executive Director Beth Katz to partake in their fourth annual Forum in Doha, Qatar from December 11-13, 2011. Beth Katz was one of 2,000 participants invited to assemble in the efforts of “creating joint actions to improve relations across cultures, combat prejudice and build lasting peace”.
Initiated by Spain and Turkey and supported by the United Nations, the UNAoC was formed in 2005. Their aim is to “improve understanding and cooperative relations among nations and peoples across cultures and religions. It also helps to counter the forces that fuel polarization and extremism.”
Founded in 2005, Project Interfaith is a non-profit organization that grows understanding, respect and relationships among people of all faiths, beliefs and cultures. Project Interfaith offers a wide array of programs that bring community members together to share, learn and connect.
