Parkinson’s Nebraska to Raise Funds for New RCO Program Through GIVE65

From July 15 to 17, Parkinson’s Nebraska (www.parkinsonsnebraska.org) is participating in the fifth annual GIVE65 event, a 65-hour online giving event presented by the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation. This year, they’re raising funds for their new Rural Community Outreach (RCO) program. The RCO program was designed in response to the specific needs of rural communities through active engagement, community-building, expanding programming based on local needs, and creating a foundation for lasting change. The event begins at 5 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, July 15, and concludes at 10 p.m. on July 17.

During the GIVE65 event, Parkinson’s Nebraska is also raising funds with the hopes of receiving up to $5,000 in matching funds from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation. This helps amplify the generosity of their donors who help fuel their mission.

COVID-19 has dramatically impacted people with Parkinson’s and their families in Nebraska. Throughout this global pandemic, Parkinson’s Nebraska continues to provide their services and programs across the state. They’ve been able to adapt and determine innovative ways to help those in need. Online programming has become the new standard for service delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic and they recognize this as an opportunity to reach rural and under-served communities in a new way. The organization relies heavily on the generous support of the Nebraska community to continue to provide these programs and increase their outreach efforts.
