The Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation – Gala 2013 and Hall of Fame Awards was held August 24 at Embassy Suites in La Vista.  Over 520 community leaders, alumni, parents and staff gathered to celebrate the partnership with the community that has resulted in the tradition of educational excellence of the Papillion-La Vista School District while raising important financial support for students. New Hall of Fame inductees honored include legendary educators Henry “Hank” Alfrey, Beverly Ruff, and Foundation founding Superintendent Roger Miller.  Distinguished Alumni inductees included Sharon Kay (Goff) Northrup 60’, Cathy (Evers) Murphy 76’, and Anne Trumble 94.’  The Community Booster inductees were longtime Monarch Booster Club leaders K and LouAnn Campbell and The Teammates Mentoring Program – Papillion-La Vista Chapter accepted by Dr. Tom and Nancy Osborne.  Over $35,000 was raised to support Foundation programs that provide additional student opportunities otherwise not possible.   The featured program for the evening was the District’s Elementary Arts Program that provides the over 5,000 elementary students the opportunity to experience age appropriate arts programming in collaboration with the Omaha Theatre Company and The Rose Theatre and supported by the Midlands Community Foundation,  the Papillion Community Foundation and alumni.
