February is Low Vision Awareness Month—a time to highlight the challenges faced by individuals with visual impairments while also raising awareness of their capabilities. This month serves as a reminder that individuals with low or no vision can achieve their personal and professional goals, breaking barriers and inspiring inclusivity.
Outlook Enrichment’s (outlooken.org) mission is to positively impact everyone who is blind or visually impaired. As the largest employer of blind and visually impaired individuals in Nebraska and the surrounding sevenstate region, Outlook sees first-hand how providing opportunities to blind and low-vision people positively impacts lives.
February highlights the need for greater inclusivity and provides a chance to come together as a community and show support. One opportunity is at Outlook’s annual Friends and Family Bowling Bash on Saturday, February 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Maplewood Lanes. Registration is available at outlooken.org/event/friends-andfamily-bowling-bash/.
Outlook Enrichment provides a variety of services that are tailored to meet personal needs of low vision and no vision individuals. Programs and services include Adaptive Technology Training, Vision Loss Peer Support Groups and more. Visit outlooken.org for more information.
