Open Door Mission Announces Holiday Volunteer Opportunities

Open Door Mission (www.opendoormission.org) is driven by their volunteers, and with the holidays approaching, they have many volunteer opportunities available now.

Interested volunteers can sign up now to help with the Mission’s newly expanded Turkey N Fixins program, giving individuals and families in need a choice of what they receive. Volunteers are also needed to help at Project Santa’s Toy and Joy Shop, providing toys to girls and boys in need so that everyone will have gifts on Christmas morning.

In addition, Open Door Mission will be holding banquet-style meals for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Volunteers opportunities at these events include helping to prepare meals, interacting with guests, and serving the holiday meals.

Help from volunteers is the first step in providing our neediest neighbors hope for the holidays and breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Working hand in hand, members of the community can make a difference at Open Door Mission. Sign up for volunteer opportunities online at www.opendoormission.org/volunteer.
