Mark your calendars for Omaha’s biggest online giving event, Omaha Gives! The second annual event will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014. The 24-hour online fundraising event led by the Omaha Community Foundation brings the community together to support local nonprofits.
During last year’s inaugural 24-hour drive, 11,000 individuals raised more than $3 million for 318 Omaha area nonprofits. This included $565,000 in matching and prize funds provided by local foundations, funders, and businesses.
Nonprofits in Douglas, Sarpy and Pottawattamie counties can sign up now at www.omahagives24.org. The nonprofits will need to register by March 31st to participate in this year’s Omaha Gives! Anyone can participate and any amount makes a difference. For the most up to date information on Omaha Gives!, follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
Leading the way for Omaha Gives!, the Omaha Community Foundation has been helping individuals, families, and organizations facilitate their charitable giving since 1982. Over the years, those donors have given more than $978 million to more than 3,000 charitable organizations, including educational institutions, human service groups, and agencies that help with arts, culture and humanities among others.
