Nebraska Children’s Home Society (NCHS) invites you to experience NCHS’s Sand in the City® event, June 6-8, 2014, at CenturyLink Center Lot B2 (10th & Mike Fahey St.). On June 6, over 350 adults from local corporations and organizations will pound, carve and sculpt sand into temporary works of art for visitors to view the weekend of June 7-8. Event activities will include an interactive Fat Brain Toys’ Kid Zone, a main stage of local performance and musical acts, concessions, professional master sand sculptor demonstrations, and “People’s Choice” award voting. All proceeds and donations will benefit the Nebraska Children’s Home Society (www.nchs.org), which provides year-round services to children and families throughout Nebraska. A 45-ton grand display will be carved by 11 master sand sculptors on Saturday. The finished sculpture can be viewed on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. New this year, there will also be an After Dark party from 7 p.m. until midnight on Saturday featuring live music by Hidden Agenda and a beer garden, located at the Downtown Hilton at 10th and Cass Streets.
