The Human Resource Association of the Midlands (HRAM) has been nominated as a finalist for the 2014 SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) Pinnacle Awards. According to the SHRM website, the award “is designed to honor outstanding leadership and reward professional excellence in the field of human resource management in our chapters and state councils”.
HRAM made the cut, along with 21 other finalists from 55 chapter and nine state council submissions, because of their Excel with a Mentor program, a partnership with Offutt Air Force Base Airmen & Family Readiness Center that assists active duty service members making the transition into the civilian workforce.
Mentors and mentees in the program are matched for a six month period in which they meet a minimum of once per month and share ideas, review resumes, set up meetings with professionals in their career field and practice interviewing. Through networking events, mentees are given access to professionals that they otherwise would have a difficult time connecting with. The program is staffed completely by HRAM chapter member volunteers.
HRAM is the premiere organization for human resource professionals in the Omaha metropolitan area. Through educational, developmental and professional interactive forums, HRAM serves the needs of businesses locally.
