The month of May is when national recognition is given to many healthcare professionals who dedicate themselves to their career and to the hospitals who are committed to the well-being of their communities. National Nurses Week falls around Florence Nightingale’s birthday – May 6, and is recognized this year May 6 – 12. National Hospital Week follows during the week of May 11-17. Please join Methodist Jennie Edmundson (jehfoundation.org) as they shine a spotlight on their hospital and healthcare workers who go above and beyond in caring for people every day.

Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital thanks all the employees, staff, physicians and volunteers who make their hospital one of the best care facilities in the area and to express much appreciation for all they do, every day, in providing patients and family members with exceptional care.

MJEH prides itself on a reputation of caring, quality of care, expertise and the compassion shown to all. In the late 1800’s a group of women banded together to live their faith and help people less fortunate by showing compassion in helping and healing. These ladies were Methodist Jennie Edmundson’s founders and later incorporated into the Women’s Christian Association (WCA). Their mission continues today and is part of the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital’s philosophy.

As we prepare for new challenges in healthcare, MJE will continue to be at the forefront to provide the “best care” for the community and SW Iowa. To the many nurses and healthcare providers who share their expertise and compassion day in and day out, who continue to exemplify who we are and what they do, thank you!
