Kids’ Chance of Nebraska Continues to Accept Scholarship Applications
Kids’ Chance of Nebraska (www.kidschanceofne.org) has awarded over 14 scholarships totaling $140,000 and wishes to continue the momentum. Kids’ Chance is currently accepting scholarship applications from kids ages 16–25 with a high school diploma or GED, or who are currently enrolled in a high school student in good standing. Scholarship proceeds are used for tuition, fees, or room and board only (paid directly to the institution, to go towards vocational/technical school, junior college, undergraduate, or graduate programs).
The Mission of Kids’ Chance of Nebraska is to provide financial support to further the education of the children of Nebraska workers who have been severely injured, totally disabled, or killed as a result of employment-related injuries or occupational diseases. It is the goal of Kids’ Chance of Nebraska to make a difference in the lives of these children by providing scholarships to help eligible students achieve both their educational goals and their families’ dreams. A recent letter from a past recipient sums it up perfectly:
“I wanted to send an email/letter of thanks to show my gratitude for Kids’ Chance of Nebraska. My sister and I can attend school together and support one another through hard times because of this scholarship. My parents have finally gotten to take a breath and focus on medical bills and other finances due to not having to worry about paying for our schooling. You gave us the most important gift that one could ask for and that is a chance at an education. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
