The online jewelry boutique—Hiya’s (goshophiya.com)—teen founder, Alejandra Wells, is on a mission to champion teen mental health awareness.
Alejandra, a sophomore at Burke High School, recently graced the cover of Scholastic’s Action Magazine and received a statewide award for her work helping youth navigate mental health. Now, Alejandra is reaching out for your assistance to continue her impactful work—internationally.
As a member of advisory groups like KIDS Nebraska and an invitation to the ICAN 2025 Research and Advocacy Summit in Montreal, Canada, Alejandra is primed to expand her influence on a global scale by presenting research on peer-led mental health initiatives such as her website, blogs, teen magazine, workshops, and Hiya programming. However, she can’t achieve this alone. She’s seeking donations to fuel her journey this July 14-20, enabling her to represent Hiya and advocate for teen mental health and suicide prevention on an international platform.
Hiya blends handmade jewelry with a deeper purpose — spreading awareness and offering support to teens navigating life’s ups and downs. For every bracelet purchased, another is gifted to a teen in need—serving as a tangible reminder that they’re not alone.
Alejandra’s story has already captured hearts and headlines, featured in the Omaha World-Herald, WOWT News, Lozafina, Elevate Omaha, Mentor Nebraska, Strictly Business, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Latino Center of the Midlands. Let’s unite behind her and propel her closer to her mission.
