Inclusive Communities (inclusive-communities.org) is inviting individuals, businesses, student groups, and community partners to take an active role in helping build a more just, connected, and inclusive Omaha.

As the organization continues its mission to confront prejudice, bigotry, and discrimination, Inclusive Communities is reminding the community that there are meaningful ways to get involved, whether someone has an hour to give, wants to support a program financially, or is looking for a deeper partnership opportunity. On its Get Involved page, the organization highlights opportunities, sponsorships, and group service, and notes that more than 200 community volunteers make its work possible.

“Inclusive Communities has always been powered by people,” said Cammy Watkins, Executive Director of Inclusive Communities. “This work takes all of us. Whether you volunteer your time, sponsor a program, bring your team in to serve, or donate.”

Volunteer roles may include office projects, assisting leadership trainings, supporting youth programming such as IncluCity camp. The organization says opportunities range from one-time service to more ongoing involvement, making it accessible for people with different schedules and availability.

Businesses and individuals can also support Inclusive Communities through sponsorship opportunities tied to programs and events. The organization notes that past sponsorships have supported efforts such as the Jane H. and Rabbi Sidney H. Brooks Conversations for Change series, LeadDIVERSITY, and IncluCity. Group volunteer opportunities are also available for student organizations, offices, and community groups looking to serve together.
