Homeless women on Open Door Mission’s (opendoormission.org) campus were recently honored with a special program and served brunch by more than 50 local volunteers. The “Ladies You are Loved” brunch was held on Saturday, May 9th, and childcare was provided so that every woman could enjoy this event, including single mothers. Each woman attending also received a special gift in honor of Mother’s Day, thanks to the generosity of the Omaha community.

“Mother’s Day is an occasion to honor mothers for all the love and care they have given their children,” says Candace Gregory, President / CEO. “Homeless women don’t have the opportunity to feel loved on this special day and many homeless women experienced a troubled past, having never experienced a mother’s love.”

Special thanks go out to volunteers and the generosity of the community, which are a huge blessing to Open Door Mission in showing the women in attendance that they are special.
