Heartland Family Service is pleased to announce it was recently awarded a $1,203,800 grant from United Way of the Midlands (www.UnitedWayMidlands.org). Thanks to the generosity of the United Way donors, Heartland Family Service—the area’s oldest human services organization—will be able to continue providing essential services to children and families in the Omaha and Council Bluffs metro area.
With help from this grant, Heartland Family Service is able to offer the following services and community support: Ready in 5, the Ruth K. Solomon Girls Center, the Senior Center, the Positive Parenting Group, the North Omaha and Sarpy County Hardship Assistance programs, the Professional Counseling program, and the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault program.
Since 1875, Heartland Family Service has responded to the needs of our area’s most vulnerable children and families. Every year the agency’s 50 programs serve more than 50,000 individuals of all ages — from infants in our Family Works program to seniors in our Senior Center — from more than 15 locations in east central Nebraska and southwest Iowa. We provide critical human services to the individuals and families who ultimately shape the future of our community through the following service areas: Child & Family Programs, Counseling & Prevention and Housing & Financial Stability.
