The Slow Race is back and better than ever! Heartland Bike Share (heartlandbikeshare.org) invites the community to join them on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, to celebrate National Bike Month with a fun and unique event: the Slow Race & Swap Meet. This exciting community event, which has become a beloved tradition in the Omaha and Council Bluffs metro area, will be held at a new, accessible location. It’s the perfect opportunity for cyclists and non-cyclists alike to come together to celebrate nonprofit bike share programs, promote cycling, and enjoy all things bicycling.

In addition to the classic slow race—where riders compete to stay upright and ride the slowest—there will be a Swap Meet, offering a chance to buy, sell, and trade bike gear, parts, and accessories. The event will also feature local vendors, food trucks, and activities for people of all ages, making it a family-friendly gathering.

Heartland Bike Share aims to raise awareness for cycling in the community and promote the nonprofit’s efforts to provide affordable, accessible biking options for everyone in the metro area. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to the cycling world, there will be something for everyone at this year’s event.

Mark your calendars for May 3rd and get ready for a fun day in celebration of biking! For more information, visit givebutter.com/slowrace2025. We can’t wait to see you there!
