Grief’s Journey Announces 20th Annual Remembrance Walk

Join Grief’s Journey (www.griefsjourney.org) on Saturday, August 18 from 9-11:30 a.m. for the 20th Annual Remembrance Walk to celebrate the life of loved ones who have died. The 2018 event is set to take place at Miller’s Landing (151 Freedom Park Rd.) and the theme is “Teams, Tennis Shoes, and Tutus.” There will be mascots, cheerleaders, and celebrity sports team appearances along with fun happenings including arm art, hair chalk, a tutu creation station, and memorial crafts. Prizes will be awarded to the largest team and the most creative costume/t-shirt. The walk is open to the public; registration is $30 for adults 19 and older, $10 for kids ages 3-18, and free for kids under 3.

Since 2001, Grief’s Journey (formerly Ted E. Bear Hollow) has been a welcoming, safe place where grieving children, teens, and adults find hope. As the region’s cornerstone for grief support, Grief’s Journey provides free peer support programs as well as training, education and consultation throughout Nebraska and Iowa. Grief’s Journey relies on charitable contributions, special event income, and volunteerism to support its free programs.
