The Great Sarpy County Quilt Exhibit, Quilts of Yesterday and Today, has been open to the public over the summer and will run through August 15. This exhibit features over 60 modern and historic quilts created or made by Sarpy County residents. Visitors can pick up a self-guided tour program to learn the story behind each quilt. Live quilt demonstrations, scheduled throughout the summer, will compliment this exhibit. These demonstrations and admission to the museum are free, but donations are always welcome. This exhibit is sponsored in part by the Braided River Quilt Guild. The museum will also once again raffle a quilt. The “Millennium Blue” quilt was made by Nebraska native Terri O’Brien, a quilter of 15 years and former quilt shop owner. Tickets can be purchased at the museum.
The Sarpy County Museum is open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and is located at 2402 Clay Street in Bellevue, Nebraska.
