Taking time to get to know your health is vital to living a happy and sustainable life. Unfortunately, Black people experience significant health disparities due to a complex interplay of historical, social, and economic factors. Because of unequal access to healthcare, environmental hazards and bias within the medical system, it can be hard to keep your health on track.

That’s why African Immigrant Family Services (nonprofitam.org) is hosting their annual African Community Health & Wellness Fair. This free event sponsored by Molina Healthcare includes healthcare providers, community organizers and local business to help educate and provide empathetic and professional care.

The goal of this event is to increase awareness around health issues, to provide preventive care, and to encourage members of the African immigrant and refugee community to engage in healthier lifestyles.

This free event takes place on May 31st from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Autism center of Nebraska! Stop by and get important health screenings done like blood pressure, blood sugar, vision, hearing and many more.
