Community Steps Up to Support First Responders Foundation with Donations

The First Responders Foundation (www.firstrespondersomaha.org) would like to thank the community, individuals, and organizations/businesses for the outpouring of supplies and support for metro area first responders during the month of June. The Foundation received countless calls and emails from concerned citizens asking, “How can I help?” The Foundation collected thousands of cases of water and sports beverages, protein bars, beef jerky, hundreds of different snack items, sunscreen, lip balm, and more, along with cards and well wishes from all ages, thanking first responders and letting them know they care. Departments in Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, and Pottawattamie counties all received donations, and they were overwhelmed with gratitude.

The Foundation is now collecting thank you notes and gift cards that will be shared with first responders. Financial contributions to the Foundation are always needed and appreciated to continue programming for first responders and their families. In addition to programming, the Foundation also hosts events throughout the year, including the First Responders Foundation 9/11 Event of Honor on Friday, September 11, 2020. Save the date!
