A golf tournament and lunch are set for May 12 to raise money for programs and services that support the spiritual well-being of residents at Good Samaritan Society – Millard.

The Good Samaritan Society – Millard’s mission is to share God’s love through the skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, specialized therapy programs and other services that are offered to seniors in the community. The center has a full-time pastor and many spiritual ministry programs, including daily worship service and personal visitations that support and promote emotional, social and spiritual health, that play a key role in promoting well-being. Due to the fact that spiritual programs and services which support this mission are not part of the basic services covered by healthcare reimbursements, these programs are unfortunately the ones that are threatened when the budget gets tight. Members of the community are invited join in having some fun while supporting the cause to ensure that local seniors continue to have access to these important offerings.

The event will be held at Fox Run Golf Course in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Registration for the four-person scramble begins at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Participants can learn more about Good Samaritan Society – Millard and register for the event by visiting www.good-sam.com/millard. The registration deadline is May 8th.
