On Tuesday, December 2 the CB Community Education Foundation will be the scene of its annual “Education Is Everyone’s Business Luncheon” that will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.  Presentations will be given by Google’s Chris Russel, Echo Electronic’s Mitch Lane, and CB School’s David Fringer that will share information on the new Student Run IT Centers. Attendees will also hear from CB Schools Superintendent Dr. Martha Bruckner and Butch Lecuona, executive director of the CB Community Education Foundation.

The CB Community Education Foundation’s mission is to provide support to individuals and families in ways that contribute to their ability to learn. The Foundation provides scholarships to graduating seniors, Teacher Classroom Grants, Teacher and Staff Support Recognition, Kids & Company Before and After School Program, The CB School Alumni Association, and the STARS Scholarship Program for adults returning to school to obtain their degree. In the 2013/14 school year the CB Community Education Foundation awarded $77,500 in classroom grants to teachers of the Council Bluffs Community Schools District and $60,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson High Schools, as well as providing Before & After School programming to over 600 children.
