American Heart Association to Lead “Go Red for Women” on February 7

The American Heart Association (heart.org), in its relentless efforts to help people live longer, healthier lives, is inviting people to ‘wear red and give’ to support Go Red for Women during American Heart Month and on National Wear Red Day®, Friday, February 7.

The American Heart Association reminds us that heart disease is the number one killer of women, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke, remains the leading global cause of death with more than 17.3 million deaths each year. That number is expected to rise to more than 23.6 million by 2030. Someone you know and love may be affected – at any age. Heart disease and stroke claim the lives of one in three women – a third of our mothers, sisters and friends. It’s time to change this fact. That’s why the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, nationally sponsored by CVS Health, encourages you to show your support by wearing red and giving to raise awareness and save lives from heart disease.

The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association are devoted to saving people from heart disease and stroke.
