American Heart Association Announces Chairs for Upcoming Signature Events

Following the first-ever $1-million Omaha Heart Walk campaign, chaired by CEO of Noddle Companies Jay Noddle, a heart attack and stroke survivor, and Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Nebraska Medicine Dr. Harris A. Frankel, the American Heart Association (www.heart.org/Omaha) has announced the local leaders who will chair its signature events this fall and winter: Go Red For Women and Heart Ball.

Ellen Wright will be the honorary chair of the 2019 Omaha Go Red for Women Expo, serving alongside Circle of Red Co-Chairs Barb Fitzgerald and Sharon Marvin Igel and Silent Auction Chair Tricia Riggins. Go Red for Women, presented nationally by CVS Health and locally by Methodist Health System, is September 24 at Embassy Suites – La Vista.

Honorary Chairs Jack and Stephanie Koraleski will lead the 2020 Omaha Heart and Stroke Ball with Chairs Mike and Elizabeth Cassling. The black-tie gala, celebrating the lifesaving work and strides made right here in Omaha, is February 29 at the CHI Health Center Omaha.

The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke and second only to the federal government in funding lifesaving cardiovascular research, funded by events like Go Red for Women, Heart Ball, and Heart Walk. In the past five years alone, the American Heart Association has funded 28 studies in Nebraska with a cost of over $4.1 million. However, 15 meritorious studies were still turned down last year in Nebraska alone due to funding.
