Jasmyn Goodwin has been named the next executive director of Visit Omaha (VisitOmaha.com), the official tourism authority for the city of Omaha. Goodwin began her career at Visit Omaha in 2007 as a marketing and public relations assistant. Over the past 18 years, she has helped the organization shape its voice, expand its national reach and build strong partnerships across the city.
Since taking on the role of vice president of marketing and communications in 2020, Goodwin has helped drive a 23% increase in visitation from target markets. Most recently, she led the launch of “Find Your Happy Place,” a campaign that speaks directly to travelers and invites them to imagine themselves enjoying all that Omaha has to offer.
“She has spent years building that knowledge by working with others, listening and delivering results,” said Mayor John Ewing Jr. “She knows what makes Omaha special and has a clear vision for the future. I am confident she will take Visit Omaha and our city’s reputation as a destination even further.”
Goodwin’s leadership has helped raise Visit Omaha’s profile through projects like OMAI the Troll, a playful citywide scavenger hunt that encourages exploration at attractions across Omaha. She also led a full redesign of VisitOmaha.com, making the site easier to navigate and more visually engaging. The website earned five national awards. In 2017, she championed Visit Omaha’s takeover of Omaha Restaurant Week, which partners with local businesses to promote the city’s dining scene and raises money for Food Bank for the Heartland.
As executive director, Goodwin will lead Visit Omaha’s work to attract visitors, meetings and events to the city. For more information, go to (VisitOmaha.com).
