Hillcrest Home Care has selected Palliative Care Associates, PC as the medical team to direct Hillcrest’s palliative care services. The physician group, led by Todd M. Sauer, M.D., has been providing palliative care in the Omaha area since 2008. Palliative Care Associates will serve in a consultative role in managing the palliative care plan for Hillcrest clients and will communicate with the patient’s primary care physician with any changes in medication, treatment or care. Dr. Sauer, president of Palliative Care Associates, is joined by his associates, Dr. Howard Edwards, Jr., Dr. Clayton Hoberman, and Dr. Larry Parsons, who will all be consulting with Hillcrest’s patients.
Dr. Sauer received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and trained in family medicine in Lincoln, Neb. He completed a fellowship at the Institute for Palliative Medicine at San Diego Hospice. Dr. Sauer is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
An associate with Palliative Care Associates since 2012, Howard C. Edwards, Jr., M.D., M.A., received his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio where he also completed a hospice and palliative care fellowship.
Clayton J. Hoberman, D.O., is a physiatrist who specializes in hospice and palliative medicine and has been an associate with Palliative Care Associates since 2011. Dr. Hoberman received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri and completed his residency at the University of Missouri Health Care.
Larry Parsons, M.D., received his medical degree from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine and completed a geriatrics fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has been an associate with Palliative Care Associates since 2012.
