FAMILY, Inc. (www.familyia.org) welcomes Jennifer Potterf, as the new director of early childhood services. She is a seasoned human services professional with over 20 years of experience in promoting child, family and community well-being.
She spent several years advocating for social justice while serving as an administrator for the Department of Health and Human Services. She was an active member on several committees in both Sarpy and Douglas counties undergoing reform efforts to prevent juvenile detention and recidivism through increased awareness of child development.
After leaving the Department of Children and Family Services, Jennifer went on to become the director of foster and kinship care with a private contractor. In this role, she recruited, trained and developed foster families that embraced the cultural differences and the unique needs of the children being served.
Her most recent role has been serving as the HCV manager for the Omaha Housing Authority. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska. She earned a leadership certificate from the department of Health and Human Services.
Jennifer is excited to join the team at FAMILY, Inc. and looks forward to continuing to build strong partnerships with the community leaders to ensure families have equitable access to opportunities to flourish in their environment.
