FAMILY, Inc. Recognizes Volunteers during National Volunteer Month
FAMILY, Inc. (www.familyia.org) is celebrating National Volunteer Month in April. This month is dedicated to recognizing the importance of volunteering and honoring the significant contributions volunteers make by generously donating their time and talents to worthy causes. In the previous fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, FAMILY received the benefit of approximately 470 hours of volunteer time. FAMILY extends its gratitude to those community individuals who enable them to engage and educate the community, inspiring a healthy future through literacy, family, and public health services.
Volunteers are an essential part of FAMILY’s vision; a resilient community built on strong partnerships and trust with equitable opportunities to thrive. Volunteers boost their power, lighten the load, and exponentially increase their impact. Best of all, they do it because they believe in the cause and want to help. FAMILY has many ongoing opportunities to volunteer, such as preparing mailings, prepare incentive and home care bags for the school sealant program, and organizing and processing donations (clothing, books, etc.), amongst other opportunities that vary depending on the season and upcoming events. If there is something specific you would like to help with, FAMILY may be able to accommodate depending on tasks available. If you or your organization is interested in volunteering, please contact Jessica Navarrete at (712) 256-9566 Ext. 214 or jnavarrete@familyia.org.
FAMILY, Inc. is an early childhood and public health organization that provides public health education, support, and connection to resources for women, children, and families in Pottawattamie and Mills counties. To learn more about how to support FAMILY’s mission, visit www.familyia.org.
