The Empowerment Network Opens 2021 Step-Up Omaha Application

Applications for The Empowerment Network’s (www.empoweromaha.com) 2021 Step-Up Omaha summer employment program are now being accepted and will close on March 7, 2021. The job training program runs June 7 through August 6. The benefits of Step-Up Omaha include: opportunities to learn more about your strengths, talents, and career interests; acquire and build life, job, and teamwork skills; gain work experiences including interviewing, job search, and customer service; gain valuable on-the-job work experience and explore future career opportunities; earn up to $1,800 this summer and gain valuable educational training.

All applicants ages 14–21 will receive a response via mail and/ or email in March and April. Application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. The number of positions is determined by the availability of funding. Current key funders and sponsors include City of Omaha, Charles E. Lakin Foundation, United Way of the Midlands, Office of Violence Prevention, Obama Foundation, Weitz Family Foundation, Kiewit Foundation, American National Bank, CHI Health, Mutual of Omaha, and other major employers and organizational partners.

The Empowerment Network, in collaboration with community partners, are working to provide opportunities for youth and young adults to gain valuable job training and work experience during the summer and beyond.
