Warm hearts and generous donations were seen this holiday season at StrategicHealthSolutions, LLC (Strategic). As a local woman-owned business, Strategic has always been interested in helping support the local community, but the degree of this year’s generosity even surprised President and Chief Executive Officer Peg Stessman.

“In a recession things get tight and donations are expected to drop, but I have been astounded at the generosity of this organization. Strategic has fewer than 100 employees, but the collections from staff vastly exceeded our own expectations” Stessman said.

For Thanksgiving, Strategic held a weeklong food drive for the Open Door Mission’s Hope for the Hungry Food Drive and collected nearly 2,000 nonperishable goods ranging from cans of food to large vats of peanut butter and jelly.

The giving spirit continued through the Christmas season with Strategic’s involvement in The Salvation Army. Strategic participated in the organization’s annual Thank-a-Thon, had 20 employees volunteer to ring bells outside a local grocery store, and collected an astounding $11,500 in its Online Red Kettle.

In 2012, StrategicHealthSolutions, LLC is planning a collection of additional activities that will further give back to the community. Some of these new activities include participation in the Open Door Mission’s Fishes and Loaves program, the Boys Town National Research Hospital run, and the Habitat for Humanity Builder’s Blitz.
