American National Bank and ConAgra Foods, along with the City of Council Bluffs and the Iowa West Foundation, recently announced Loessfest 2015 will kick off Saturday, May 23 with a free concert at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park featuring Chicago.

Loessfest, beginning Memorial Day weekend, was created to showcase Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park, located at the foot of Iowa side of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge in Council Bluffs. The park is a regional amenity and Loessfest was created to celebrate all that it has to offer. The festival has drawn more than 66,000 to the park in its first two years.

Loessfest will continue to host FREE events every day through May 30th. This is a shorter timeline than the first two years, but the number of events will remain the same. Parking is available on both sides of the river, including the parking lot just north of Harrah’s Casino and on the parking lot just east of the Great Lawn, accessible from S. 40th Street. To avoid traffic delays and to reserve your spot on the great lawn in the park, please arrive early for the concert and all Loessfest events.

Watch for the announcement of upcoming Loessfest events; details will also be available at loessfest.com. You can also follow Loessfest updates on Facebook via Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park’s page or on Twitter @loessfest. Join the conversation #loessfest2015.
