The Omaha Empowerment Breakfast (omahaempowermentbreakfast.org) on Friday, November 4, 7-8:30 a.m. at Beacon Hills in Aksarben Village will feature Ron Hernandez with Moving Vets Forward as the guest speaker. This will be a time to honor veterans and network with other professionals. If you know a veteran, bring them with you! Cost is $20 a person.

As a son of a career veteran, Ron served in the U.S. Army for 25 years with an MOS of U.S. Army Calvary Scout for most of his career. While in the military, he suffered several debilitating injuries. However, his injuries have motivated him rather than slowing him down.

In 2010, Ron created a nonprofit organization, Moving Veterans Forward, based in Papillion. They have touched thousands of veterans lives over the years. Besides finding them sufficient housing, they collect furniture, clothing, and household items to provide a complete home for a homeless veteran to move into. One hundred percent of all donations received go toward helping veterans, and non-personnel operations of Moving Veterans Forward. Ron is aspiring to develop additional ideas toward further helping veterans become self-sufficient.

The Omaha Empowerment Breakfast is a non-membership networking opportunity held monthly on the first Friday with great speakers, great food, and endless connections. People attending can showcase their business by being a three-minute speaker or being an event sponsor.
