The Nebraska Department of Labor is now offering a free, paperless method for employers of any size to receive and respond to requests for employee separation information.  With SIDES E-Response, instead of filling out paper 350 forms, employers can respond to unemployment claims by clicking a link in their email, answering some questions about the employee, and uploading supporting documents.

SIDES sends information electronically, speeding up the processing of separation information and making it easier to meet the 10-day response deadline. Employers who respond on time keep their appeal rights and help prevent benefit payments to claimants who aren’t eligible. This helps keep unemployment insurance taxes low and protects employer experience ratings.  Using SIDES also eliminates postage costs and can help prevent time-consuming follow-up calls.  To register, visit dol.nebraska.gov/SIDES.

The Nebraska Department of Labor helps develop a quality workforce through dynamic and collaborative partnerships, employment services, training, education, temporary income continuation, safety-related programs and labor market information. The administrative office is located at 550 South 16th Street in Lincoln, and American Job Centers and office locations are spread across the state.  To learn more about the Nebraska Department of Labor, visit dol.nebraska.gov.
