Monolithic Brewing (monolithicbrewing.com), a locally owned craft brewery near 120th and Fort Street, is celebrating its five-year anniversary this October. Since opening in 2020, the brewery has become a gathering place for craft beer lovers and a hub for local collaborations across Omaha’s thriving small business community.
Over five years, Monolithic has brewed more than 250 unique beers and has served up more than 50,000 gallons of beer. The brewery’s signature style—the Hazy IPA—has earned statewide acclaim. “Mosaic Broken Hearts Hazy IPA” won first place in the Divots Brewery Burnt Keg Cup in 2021, and “Benevolent Sun” claimed first place again in 2024 in a blind taste test alongside 14 other Nebraska breweries. Other style of beers Monolithic serves includes light sessionable beers, stouts, hard seltzers, sours and everything in between.
The brewery regularly collaborates with local restaurants and chefs, including partnerships with Au Courant Regional Kitchen, Dolomiti Pizzeria & Enoteca, Shucks Fish House & Oyster Bar Patio Takeover, Hatch Chilefest and Shane’s Spicy Wing Challenge, all have become local favorites. “With only a partial kitchen ourselves, these taproom takeovers require a lot of planning and we’re beyond grateful that these established, higher-end restaurants trust us enough to bring their craft into our brewery,” said head brewer, Shane Costello.
