Business Ethics Alliance Holds Inaugural Ethicspace Conference

The Business Ethics Alliance (businessethicsalliance.com), an Omaha-based nonprofit made up of hundreds of local business partners, hosted its first ever conference, EthicSpace. The event was held on October 22 at the Mike and Josie Harper Center at Creighton University. This inaugural conference focused on the topic of “Influencing a High-Trust Work Culture” and featured local and national speakers. The goal of the conference was to provide an entire day of ethics education to the Omaha business community.

The conference started with an introduction featuring Nancy Hintz, the president and CEO of the Nebraska Humane Society, displaying the trust between a dog and its owner. Afterwards, Bill George, former CEO of Medtronic, spoke on developing a trustworthy character. Following Bill’s presentation, guests were invited to participate in an ethics exercise on authenticity. Next, Omaha native Othello H. Meadows III had a presentation on the importance of inclusion and trust in the workplace. Othello is the president and CEO of Seventy-Five North Revitalization Corporation. After a lunch break, the Alliance welcomed the final speaker of the day, Stacy Heen Lennon, founder of Triad Consulting Group which is a leading global corporate education and communication firm. To close the event, Bev Kracher relayed the importance of having a high-trust workplace.

Overall, this event was a great way to show the Omaha community what the Business Ethics Alliance has become. To learn more about the Alliance, visit businessethicsalliance.com or contact (402) 280-2235 / info@businessethicsalliance.org.
