BBB Announces Video Contest with Cash Prize to Omaha High School Students

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has announced the Student Video Contest. If you know of high school students who are creative, like video production, and want to win some money, please tell them about this opportunity. It is an interactive competition designed to engage students (grades 9-12) and to encourage the creation of high quality, user-generated video content. Along with a cash prize, winners will also be award new video equipment for their school.

Teams must be formed by February 8 at 11:59 p.m., and the videos submitted by March 1 at 11:59 p.m. to qualify. Additionally, the teams have to be supervised by a teacher or another adult school representative. For the contest, teams of one to four students, approved by a school administrator/teacher, will be create videos that represent one of BBB’s chosen themes: “Start With Trust” or “#Ask BBB.”

The students will compete based on the participants’ ability to follow the contest guidelines, quality of video production, delivery of the theme, key messages and successful promotion, and marketing of their videos. Finally, the top videos will be scored by the BBB and selected judges/professionals, and the winners will be chosen. The prizes for the top three winners are:

First Place: $2,000 – Donation of equipment of school’s choice and $500 cash/gift cards to the winning video.

Second Place: $1,000 – Donation of equipment of school’s choice and $250 cash/gift cards to the 2nd place video.

Third Place: $750 – Donation of equipment of school’s choice.
