3rd Annual Birds & Beer Event by Angels Among Us Attracts Nearly 300
Angels Among Us (www.myangelsamongus.org) hosted their 3rd Annual Birds & Beer event in April and it was the biggest one yet. Over 275 guests registered and enjoyed beer tastings from various Nebraska breweries and food tastings from local establishments. Vendors in attendance were Kros Strain, Upstream Brewing, Site-1, Bottle Rocket Brewing, Juke’s Ale Works, Kinkaider Brewing, Sideshow Spirits, Saro Cider, Zipline Brewing, and Nebraska Brewing, all supported by the Nebraska Craft Brewers Guild. Food vendors in attendance were Best Bison, Caddyshack, Tom & Pat’s, Clancy’s, and Skyybox.
This event was created three years ago with the main purpose of allowing Angels Among Us to meet new supporters in a casual setting and for a low ticket price. It has done just that. Over half of the attendees were new supporters of Angels Among Us and made aware of the organization’s mission.
“We want people to know that, no matter how much they give, just by attending a fun event they’re able to make a difference,” says Aly Theilen, assistant director.
This event has grown because of huge sponsor support from Fusion Medical Staffing, Patriot Crane & Rigging, Interstates, Soul & Swag, Buildertrend, Ellerbrock-Norris, Faith Technologies, and NFM.
Angels Among Us is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide financial and emotional support to any family whose child is battling pediatric cancer and living in or being treated in the state of Nebraska.
