CODE Education Series Retreat- Beyond the 3 P’s – Policy, Practices, and Procedures

Join us for our FREE Education Series Retreat – “Beyond the 3 P’s, Policy, Practices, and Procedures on Friday, April 21st, 2023 from 11am – 4pm. Followed by a Certificate of completion and networking event from 4-6pm. 

Demographic Makeup of Organizations: Guest Speaker:  Mynesha Spencer In this section, we will go over ways to asses the extent to which diversity and inclusion are integrated into your company’s policies, procedures, and practices. As well as, assessing the demographic makeup of your organization. Does your organization formally track the race/ethnicity of it’s employees?  When employees are asked to report their race/ethnicity, which categories of race/ethnicity does your organization provide?

Dress Code & Religion: Guest Speakers: Wendy Goldberg and Jeremy Fricke In this section, we will go over ways to asses the extent to which diversity and inclusion are integrated into your company’s policies, procedures, and practices. Does your organization have policies that allow employees to adhere to religious practices? Does the organization’s dress code policy accommodate different religious beliefs, gender identity, etc.? Does your organization have a dress code policy? Is the Organization’s dress code policy gender-specific?

Psychological Safety: Guest Speaker: Joe Gerstandt  In this section, we will learn the importance of Psychological safety and how it is  essential in creating a safe place for employees to feel they can be their whole selves regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, background, family status, and any part of their identity without judgement. Intertwining psychological safety with diversity and inclusion efforts in the workplace allows employees to feel safe being themselves since their diversity is welcomed.
