Cross Electronic Recycling Honors Earth Day, Encourages Public to Recycle Electronics
Cross Electronic Recycling (crossrecycling.com), a program of the Cross Training Center, is honoring Earth Day on April 22 by encouraging the community to bring their unused and unwanted electronics to their center to be safely recycled.
Through Cross Recycling Center’s asset recovery program, recycled electronics are sorted to determine what is usable and what is not. Electronics that have reached the end of their useful life are properly dismantled to prevent environmental pollution in landfills. Items that are considered still usable are sent through a stringent refurbishing process and are resold at a discounted rate to individuals and businesses around Omaha.
Electronic drop-off hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Cross Electronic Recycling also encourages individuals to host electronic collection events at their workplace, school, or neighborhood to help the community easily dispose of their electronics in a safe manner. Collection events are held at no charge to the organizer; Cross Electronic Recycling will provide all equipment, staffing, handling, and transporting of collected materials. To schedule a collection event or to learn more, please contact Recycling Operations Supervisor Dan Lang at (402) 590-2100 Ext. 007 / danlang@crosstc.com.
Cross Electronic Recycling is operated and the owned by Cross Training Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower and equip undereducated and unemployed adults through vocational training and work experience. Learn more at crossrecycling.com / crosstc.com.
