River City Six – Mandy Reynolds

Meet Mandy Reynolds, co-owner of TSR Construction (www.tsrconstructs.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – We are Class-A building contractors serving Omaha and the surrounding areas. While we mostly specialize in commercial, we do quite a bit of residential work as well. TSR Construction has also done work on the government and city levels. We pride ourselves on our staff of professional experts who will be there for you every step of the way. You can contact our team anytime to set an appointment or get a free estimate.

How did you get started in the business? – My husband Tony was originally working for a large construction company here in Omaha, and he started doing a lot of work on the side. The side work started taking over in 2016, so we decided that we were going to start our own company. Tony still worked for the other company until late 2019 when we went full time into TSR Construction.

What has been your most impor tant achievement professionally? – We were chosen to be the contractor for the largest liquor store in Nebraska—Wine, Beer, and Spirits on 3435 Oak View Dr. It was a fun project, and we are proud of the final result.

Tell us a little about your family. – We have a lot of kids and six grandbabies. We are a very close-knit family.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – We like to go out of town to get some different scenery.

Who inspires you? – My husband inspires me because he is a very hard worker and his work ethic is unmatched. I have never seen anybody work as hard as Tony does! If he has a job, he will be there every day until it is finished.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Quality.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Black Men United. Willie Hamilton, the president and founder of Black Men United, has been very crucial in mentoring and opening opportunities for Tony and I. The organization itself is dedicated to fostering volunteers and a strong focus on advocacy to create better policies around policing and other community issues and supporting young Black children. The Greater Omaha Chamber’s REACH program is also great because it is designed specifically for small-emerging construction businesses. We took advantage of the training and resources provided through REACH.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – The ability to socialize in-person and make genuine connections.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Bible is my ultimate favorite.

What is your favorite TV show? – Anything that will make me laugh!

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Lutfi’s Fried Fish at 2527 N 72nd St.
