Growl-O-Ween, an event that Three Dog Bakery & Spaw has hosted since opening its doors in 2007, is by far one of the most festive ways to celebrate the Halloween with your favorite furry friends each year. Last year over 200 dogs attended wearing all sorts of costumes, from bumblebees to ballerinas!
Again this year the event will raise funds for the Nebraska Humane Society to support their incredibly important work with rescue animals. Growl-O-Ween is held at Turner Park and Midtown Crossing, and features a raffle, food drive, a variety of vendors and local rescue groups, and the most popular, a Halloween costume contest! The four categories include Best Small Dog, Best Big Dog, Best Group (which can include humans also!), and the crowd favorite, “Oh NO You Did Not Do That To Your Dog!.” New this year, a pet psychic will be attending which should be quite interesting!
Once all of the winners have been announced for the costume contest, pets and their owners can begin “trick or treating” throughout Midtown Crossing – which is generally the best part for the dogs, as they literally get to do tricks for treats and there are plenty of goodies to go around!
Make sure to join in the fun this year for Growl-O-Ween on October 24th from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for a great time to support a great cause.
