How did you get started in the business? – In 1999, I did a college internship in Lied Lodge’s accounting department and got bit by the hospitality bug. I started in our sales department in 2000 and have been there ever since. I’m fascinated by all the great events people are planning and love all that we have to offer to accommodate them.

Tell me a little about your family. – My husband, Rick, and I have been married for 14 years and we have three children.  My stepdaughter, Kaleigh, is 21; my daughter, Brooke, is 13, and my son, Chase, is 10.  We are blessed to call Nebraska City our home and to be surrounded by our family.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – While a sophomore in college, I clearly remember making the decision not to become a teacher and coach but instead to get my degree in business. It worked out great because I love what I do!

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to be at home with my family.  Like most families, we are busy with so many activities most days that it is a luxury to just hang out.

What are you the most proud of? – Our children are pretty amazing and we are so proud of them. You get to experience life through their eyes, which is so great!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – It is in a form of a quote from Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Positive.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would say back to my initial choice prior to changing directions: a teacher and a coach.  I love to learn things and to help others learn.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – The Timber Dining Room at Lied Lodge, of course!

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – I am pretty fascinated with Steve Jobs right now, so I would pick him if I had the opportunity.
