Through her work as a therapist, Nanette Gingery realized the power of helping people tap into their full potential.  She began exploring coaching in her own personal life, which resulted in her becoming aware of where she was limiting herself and enabled her to accomplish things she never thought possible.  This led her to start Next Step Coaching, which specializes in leadership and business and personal coaching.

Tell us a little about your family.
I have a wonderful partner and five children.  Family is a priority.  My older children are coming into their own and pursuing their goals and dreams, which is very exciting to see.  My younger children are developing their interests and I love to witness their enthusiasm and excitement as they grow and learn.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
I would have to say the day I was introduced to coaching.  This allowed me to utilize all my experiences in a clear and focused way which took my life to a different level.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
This time of year, it has to be going to a Husker game and spending time with my family.  I’m a movie buff, so late at night when all is quiet, I like to curl up by the fire and watch a good movie.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I am an artist and have performed in musical theater my entire life.  I have written a musical and I am currently working on getting it to the stage in 2012.

What are you the most proud of?
My family and operating my businesses with integrity.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
I would have to say the thing which has had the most impact is not so much advice but the great foundation and modeling of my parents. They worked hard and lived life with integrity and honesty and expected no less from their children.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
I would love to leave a legacy of having added value to others and to have made a contribution to the lives of others, family and community through my work as a therapist and coach.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Some type of super speed that would allow me to travel from one place to another quickly, but I would have to be able to take others with me.

What are your plans for retirement?
I don’t think I’ll ever retire in the traditional sense.  I see myself coaching and speaking, spending time with family, traveling and writing.

My voice.

Which talent would you most like to have?
I have always thought that somewhere within me was a ballet dancer.
