River City 6: Matt Dinsdale

Pinnacle Bank has been family-owned since 1938 and has grown to a company holding level of $8.5 billion in assets, over 135 branches in eight states and 1,800 employees while still maintaining its strong sense of community. Matt Dinsdale is the President of Pinnacle Bank’s Elkhorn branch.

How did you get started in the business? – I started with Pinnacle Bank in Keene, TX in 2009. I went through our Management in Training program, and then helped with our opening a Loan Production Office in downtown Fort Worth. Our folks down there tried hard to convert me into a ‘Texan,’ but I held strong in my commitment to the Big Red!

Tell us a little about your family. – I’ve been married to my wife, Sheena, for just over 4 years now. She’s a ‘country’ girl from Kimball, NE. We have two boys, Graham (2 ½) and Roy (10 mos.). Sheena is a registered nurse who graduated from UNMC in Omaha and worked at Cook Children’s in Fort Worth while we lived in Texas. She now stays home with our two boys, which I’ve learned is still a full-time job!

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – There have been a few: experiencing 4 years of Bill Callahan while in school (taught me the tough lessons of patience and humility); moving to Texas without knowing a soul after finishing my college; and of course getting married and starting a family.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Well, with two boys under the age of three, Sheena and I don’t really have any ‘days off’ at the moment. But I’m a ‘car guy’, so if there’s a show going on or something at all related to cars, I’m there! I also love to hit the links, brush up on the latest recruiting class, or maybe even smoke a good cigar.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I’ve been involved with a couple here in Omaha, most notably Fellowship for Christian Athletes, as well as Project Harmony. I was involved in FCA when I was in high school and always thought it was such a powerful way to reach young people. Project Harmony has been an eye-opening group to be a part of and their mission of protecting and supporting abused and neglected children is an admirable one to say the least.

What is your favorite movie? – Layer Cake. I really like The Blind Side, too. Those two movies couldn’t be more opposite from one another. Not sure what that means?

What is your favorite TV show? – Seinfeld and Breaking Bad are a close 1 and 2.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Shuck’s Fish House and Oyster Bar is unreal. I also really like Hiro 88. Didn’t realize I was such a fish aficionado!

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Probably Bob Devaney. Being the godfather of Husker football and all, I think he gets the nod.

If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? – They can call me anytime at my office in Elkhorn, (402) 932-3523, or better yet, come on by! I can also be reached via email at matt.dinsdale@pinnbank.com or visit our website at www.pinnbank.com.
