Tell us a little about your business. – Platteview Golf Club is nestled just outside of Omaha, with approximately 265 golfing members as well as 50 social memberships currently. It is a second home for a lot of people, including myself; our members and staff are what make my job so fun. We are proud to be celebrating our 50th anniversary and offer a great venue for private parties including weddings, rehearsal dinners, graduation parties, etc. We also host lots of golf outings throughout the year for different businesses and organizations.

How did you get started in the business? – I got my start in the golf business when I was 19 years old as a beverage cart driver, which is actually one of my favorite jobs to date. I have always had a passion for athletics as well as business, so it’s been a great fit as a career.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – When I was named Assistant General Manager here at Platteview GC. I wear a lot of different hats here at the club as I am sure a lot of people have to do in their careers. I was happy to know that my hard work was recognized and is paying off.
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband and I have been married for a little over two years now. We are both from the Omaha area and both have a passion for sports. My mother and I, as well as all of my siblings, remain close. I have 3 nephews and 3 nieces who I love to pieces.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – My father passed away when I was 9 years old from a brain aneurysm, leaving my mother to raise 4 children between the ages of 9-15 on her own. We all had to grow up fast as my mom still worked full time. I have always had a great admiration of my mother for what she did for all of us kids. I like to think we all turned out pretty great.

What are you the most proud of? – I am the most proud of the relationships I have made with people, professionally as well as in my private life. I enjoy getting to know people and figuring out what makes them tick.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy going golfing when the weather is right. I play in a few volleyball leagues and I also like spending time with my sister in any capacity. My husband and I are huge Creighton Bluejay fans so we like to go to basketball games in the winter.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – This is really tough to narrow down! I just had one of the best meals at Lot 2 the other night. The Drover is my favorite steakhouse in town. Leo’s Diner will always have a special place in my heart too.
