Tell me a little about your business. – Paychex helps businesses reduce the complexity and risk of payroll and HR compliance, while helping to ensure greater accuracy with up-to-date tax rates and regulatory information.  We simplify payroll with a combination of dynamic products and customer service for a quick and easy pay day.  We are dedicated to helping America’s business succeed.   Our clients receive expert, one-on-one service and support that is focused and customized.

How did you get started in the business? – I was recruited to explore Paychex and was extremely impressed with the reputation of the company as well as what it does to help small business owners and their efficiency.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Keeping up with all of the payroll tax laws and compliance changes can be quite a job in and of itself, and it continues to challenge my business clients daily.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I have earned the Circle of Excellence Award for recognition of my accomplishments.  Only the top 10% of Paychex consultants receive this award of the 1,200 eligible.

Tell me a little about your family. – I am married to Ryan Meyer, who is a commercial lender at American National Bank.  We have a 3 year old son, Chase, who keeps us very busy and we cherish every moment.  Being a parent has been the best experience of my life!

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I initially went to school to be a Physical Therapist at Nebraska Wesleyan University.  I had a very influential business instructor who made me realize that I have a great passion for business.  As a result, I chose to major in Business Administration as well as Exercise Science.  This has allowed me to follow my passions and be a well-rounded consultant.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spend time with family and make sure I get a good workout in!

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I graduated from high school in a class of 16 people.

What are you the most proud of? – My son.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Thoughtful.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Flying (to avoid traffic!).

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Athletic prowess.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – If I could stand the sight of blood, I would love to be a nurse.  I have a great deal of respect for everyone in the medical community.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Last Lecture, co-authored by Randy Pausch and Jeffrey Zaslow.

What is your favorite movie? – Dirty Dancing.

What is your favorite TV show? – Modern Family.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Dante Ristorante Pizzeria.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Oprah.
