NuMale Medical Center ( www.numale.com) is a leading national provider of customized, comprehensive treatment for male sexual dysfunction and enhancement.  John Olin is a Physician Assistant at NuMale’s Omaha office.

Tell us a little about your business. – We help men suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED), low testosterone (Low-T), premature ejaculation (PE) and low sex drive, utilizing a wide range of the most highly respected, FDA-approved medical treatments and therapies. Our science-based approach has proven extremely popular around the country, and NuMale is expanding rapidly. We currently have eleven clinics throughout the country, with many more on the horizon nationwide.

How did you get started in the business? – My interest in men’s health stemmed from my experience in the military. I saw the effects of aging on men in really great physical condition. I became interested in the changes men go through as they age, and studied incredibly hard before beginning at NuMale.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – As a physician assistant (P.A.), I struggle constantly to help people understand the important role we play in healthcare. We are highly trained, and we practice medicine on teams with doctors. P.A.s are nationally certified and state licensed, and we can diagnose and treat medical conditions, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medication. Though there are many misconceptions about P.A.s, I find treating men suffering from sexual dysfunction and aging-related conditions very satisfying because we have a profoundly positive impact on their lives.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – While on active duty service, I was awarded Coast Guardsmen of the Quarter and an accommodation medal. I’m incredibly proud of my service to this country, and it remains my proudest professional achievement.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my wonderful wife for 18 years, and we have three children: two boys age 16 and 9 and a 4-year-old daughter. We also have a pug and two bulldogs.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – The day I became a father my life changed. Raising my children has brought peace amid the constant struggles of my life; it really puts everything else in perspective.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I coach wrestling. I also love to go fishing, especially at Chalco Hills.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Malcolm Forbes said, “You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” I’ve always tried to live by that advice. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and life is better when you help others.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I am passionate about youth wrestling. The sport builds character. It teaches dedication and work ethic and really prepares young people for life. They learn to overcome difficult obstacles. Wrestling instills both confidence and humility, and it teaches persistence and courage.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – I don’t eat there every day (I work in healthcare, after all), but I love King Kong.

If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? – Readers should feel free to contact me at the NuMale Medical Center in Omaha.
